Nile Cruises for English program

TR 1: Nile Cruise I

1. Day: Arrival

Arrival in Cairo, meeting and assistance and transfer to hotel, dinner and overnight in Cairo. (D)

2. Day: Cairo

Full day tour to see the Egyptian museum, containing also the treasures of Tutankhamen. Proceed to the pyramids of Giza with sphinx, the last of the seven wonders of the ancient world, and finally to the famous Khan el Khalili bazaar. In the afternoon transfer to Giza station for the sleeper train to Luxor. Dinner and overnight on board train. (BD)

3. Day: Nile cruise Luxor (must be a Saturday or Monday)

In the morning arrival in Luxor and visit to the monumental temple of Karnak. Afterwards embarkation and lunch on board. In the afternoon crossing the Nile to to Luxor West-Bank: Valley of the Kings, temple of queen Hatshepsut, and colossi of Memnon. Overnight on board in Luxor.(BLD)

4. Day: Nile cruise Esna - Edfu - Kom Ombo

Early sailing to Esna to pass the lock The cruise ship passes between green fields often worked by peasants in the same way as in pharaonic times. Visit the temple of Horus in Edfu, then on to Kom Ombo. Overnight on board in Kom Ombo.(BLD)

5. Day: Nile cruise Kom Ombo - Aswan

In the morning visit to the twin temples of Sobek and Haroeris. Sailing towards Aswan. The last part of the cruise passes through especially beautiful landscape – golden desert hills rise behind a narrow green seam of fields. After arrival in Aswan sailing tour with a typical Egyptian felucca around the Nile islands. Overnight on board. (BLD)

6. Day: Nile cruise Aswan - Abu Simbel (optional )

The morning is free at leisure. Optional: visit to the rock temples of Ramesses II. at Abu Simbel, transported 60 m higher to save them from the rising water of Lake Nasser. The afternoon is free at leisure. Overnight on board. (BLD)

7. Day: Aswan - Cairo

Disembarkation after breakfast. Visit the High Dam Sadd el Ali, the temples of Philae Island and the Unfinished Obelisk. In the afternoon transfer to Aswan station for the sleeper train to Cairo. Dinner and overnight on board train. (BD)

8. Day: Departure

Arrival in Cairo app. 6.30 a.m. Transfer to Cairo airport and final departure. (B)

TR 2: Nile Cruise II

1. Day: Arrival
